A bit about me…
I live in Royston, Hertfordshire with my wife Jeni and five of our seven children. As a family we love getting outdoors, camping and exploring new places.
In my day job, I’m a swimming teacher, I do a bit of everything from parent and baby sessions, to adult learners and school swimming lessons. I have a passion for working with nervous and non-swimmers and giving people time to feel confident for themselves.
I volunteer with Girlguiding and run a Rainbows and a Guides group in town. I really enjoy trying new things with the young people I work with and sharing my love of adventures, camping, stargazing and lighting fires!
My training and experience…
I was first introduced to the idea of using a sling by a friends from primary school when my eldest had reflux as a baby and now have ten years of experience supporting families. I first trained as a peer supporter with Born to Carry and later as a consultant with Slingababy and Die Tragaschule. I will work with you to find a method of carrying that is comfortable and safe for you and your child.
I added CalmFamily consulting to my practice a couple of years ago through which I support families to build calmer relationships. I can help you understand and meet your babies needs, even before you’ve held your little one. I can help you prepare to care for them as they enter our world and as you develop as a family.
What I can offer you…
I specialised in supporting people with slings and baby carriers. I offer 1-1 consultations at my home or yours, small group workshops and online support. For a more informal chat about carrying you would be welcome to visit one of our free sling library sessions at Royston or Clay Farm Centre Trumpington, where you can also get advice about cloth nappies.
I also offer 1-1 parenting sessions where I can offer you tailored support both pre and postnatally, guiding new parents through what to expect with a newborn. For those with older ones, I can help you understand and work though issues with your toddlers behaviour as they grow into independent little humans.
