About Us

We are Clare and Jeni; carrying and CalmFamily consultants based in Royston, Hertfordshire. We have seven children between us and a wealth of experience to share with your family. Affectionately referred to as the Chaos Monsters, our younger five live with us, the eldest two are now grown up and only come to add to the general pandemonium when they visit. Our house is busy and loud and most of the time we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We did our carrying peer support training with different schools but both did our consultancy training with Slingababy, we were on different courses but met in 2017 at the consultants family camp! The rest, as they say, is history… but the path that we took to get to where were are today, as a couple, as parents and as people has taught us both so much. Mostly that life is messy and complicated and chaotic and that’s ok!

Day to day everyone’s needs and priorities change and finding the right balance to help us remain calm and meet our children’s needs without completely disregarding our own is something we work at constantly. Life isn’t perfect and our parenting is far from it! We’re learning together as a family every day, getting it wrong, making mistakes, falling out and working to put things right so nobody goes to bed feeling sad or frustrated.

We’ve learnt so much through training, from our friends and family, from each other and through a lot of trial and error! Getting to share this and supporting other families with carrying and parenting is absolutely amazing. We can’t wait to work with you…
